Service affecting notice from our Stream 2 provider

Due to regulatory changes in the UK 2 of our servers are experiencing service reducing bandwidth issues. We have therefore decided to move all our servers out of EU and have already placed order for the new ones.

Today’s buffering is something we are aware of and it will go away as soon as the new servers come online. We are expecting the delivery in 24 to 48 hours and we should be back at full service over the weekend. Meanwhile your patience is much appreciated.

Naturally timing is less than perfect as we are going to experience maintenance on Stream 1 tonight. Hopefully between the two providers we will continue to have ITV service over the weekend by being patient and going between the two providers. Please check both providers over the next 2 days in over to watch your favorite channels.

Stream 1 – server issues

Stream 1 has been experiencing server issues starting at 7:45am this morning. While the service appears to be back up it does not appear as stable as it should be. The provider has technicians working on the issue.

We would recommend that users switch to Stream 2. While some channels may be buffering from time to time the service appears more stable right now with football starting soon. If you are still using Stream 1 please go to the top right section of the page and attempt to update if you are experiencing issues. If the update fails the app will provide you the opportunity to switch to Stream 2.

Stream 1 experiencing slow EPG (TV Guide) response

Our Stream 1 provider has been experiencing on-going delayed updating issues on their EPG (TV Guide) servers. If you experience your updates slowing or stopping on EPG upgading you can bypass the update by hitting the back button after the Live TV/VOD and Series have updated. You will not have TV Guide listing but you will be able to continue watching all channels that are available.

Emergency maintenance notification – Florida

We will be performing an emergency reboot of our South backbone radio tonight at midnight. After several customer related issued we have determined that a frequency change on our South backbone radio is causing sluggish network responses and lower than normal bandwidth. We will be moving the radio back to its original frequency to improve service Terra Mar and South River Front Park.

Please expect several outages of 5 minutes or more and we perform this maintenance. Service should be restored by 2am. Should you experience issues after the maintenance you may need to reboot your router in order to re-establish a network address on your devices.

Stream 1 provider issue – resolved

The server tech has resolved the issue and everything appears to be back to normal. Thanks everyone for your patience.

Stream1 is having issues when logging in. The issue appears to be an internet issue on the service provider’s side.

When logging in the Live TV update will take several minutes and then the update process will lock up when updating TV Guide. To eliminate the issue simply hit the back button when the update process gets to Updating TV guide. You should then be able to see channels however you WILL NOT have an EPG (TV Guide) for the channels.

An alternative is to back out into Account and go to Stream 2 until the issue is resolved.

The providers server tech is working on the issue now.

Remote support policy for free and paid app’s on your IPTV box or stick

As many of our customer’s know, CBN & TelUS has previously provided several “free” app’s on our Android box programming and app management services as a courtesy to our customer’s. Doing so provides many of our customer’s the opportunity to see first hand the power of their box and what is possible via the internet.

Recently many of our customer’s have come to the realization that streaming on their TV box or stick can require frequent app updates to these “free” app’s in order to stay current with the app programmer’s changes. Unfortunately with the constant changes generated by these free app’s it is becoming impossible for CBN or TelUS to guarantee the continuous functionality of these “free” app’s. Additionally it is becoming more and more costly and time consuming for us to provide free remote support for a “free” app. As a result, TelUS has provided many of our more technically inclined customer’s with information to allow them to do updates to their “free” app’s themselves.

Additionally, we have begun offering several new inexpensive pay app’s that provide more reliable and higher quality services to rival the “free” app’s and as with the live video app’s, such app’s are supported remotely under your remote app management monthly fee’s.

Based upon all of this, effective August 1st we will no longer offer “free” app upgrade support via remote services without a remote service fee to assist us in the time and expenses involved with such updates. A remote programming fee of $25.00 per session will be quoted and applied going forward for all remote service requests on  “free” app service work.
